Special machinery for glueing of highgloss aluminium edges

A supplier für furniture parts was looking for a solution for applying aluminium edges to 5.6 meter long furniture panels. With a little help from Wehrmann he was able to multiply his production.

Formerly this step of production was done manually. Glue was applied to the panel and the alumium egde was applied by a frame press. This process need some new thoughts because skaling up was not efficient.

The delivery of an automated edge banding machine from Wehrmann is now providing perfect glueing in throughfeed. The base for this special machinery was an old IMA Novimat edgebander. This is a solid machine and providing secure and precise transport of the parts. The processing units have been changed and fully customized including a new developed infeed and pressing system for the edges. This system enables precise positioning while saving the sensitiv surface of the aluminium edge. The glueing units are using EVA hotmelt and PVAC white glue that are applied by nozzles. The BECKHOFF control guaranties a safe and easy use of the machine.
